Dr Al-Issa’s humanitarian work goes beyond providing one-off relief, to building long-standing infrastructure. Support for the Ocean Viking has helped rescue over a thousand people from the Mediterranean; water security programmes have delivered close to 5,000 wells to communities across Somalia, Pakistan and beyond; and orphan care schemes provide tens of thousands of children in Egypt and Jordan with a monthly safety net. Alongside this sits a growing commitment to public health, from a global coalition to eliminate hepatitis to scholarship programmes training the doctors and midwives that vulnerable communities will need for decades to come.

The organisation also launched relief programmes during Dr. Al-Issa's 2025 visit. ● Child-protection and psychosocial-support programmes reached displaced children and families, including through UNHCR cooperation. ● Mosque and community infrastructure projects serving over 14 million people ● 59,406 orphans receiving a standing monthly allowance ● Hosted a Youth for Peaceful Coexistence forum focused on youth leadership and intercommunity dialogue. ● Blindness-prevention programme, supported by solar-powered medical facility infrastructure ● MWL oversaw the opening of the Museum of the Prophet's Biography in Nouakchott, extending its international cultural and educational network into West Africa. ● MWL launched an orphan programme sponsoring 6,000 children, while its wider Malawi work includes one of its substantial water projects. ● Hosted the Second International Summit of Religious Leaders, using religious leadership as a mechanism for conflict resolution and coexistence. ● 393 mosque/community infrastructure projects serving almost 12 million people ● Joint child protection programme with Greece benefiting over 15,000 displaced children and families ● Malala Fund partnership directly supporting 1,100 female students ● Nearly 800 wells serving over 450,000 people ● MWL-supervised educational programmes produced 70,000 male and female Qur'an memorizers, while a separate agreement supports the restoration of widows' homes. ● UNHCR partnership supporting unaccompanied minors and victims of human trafficking, providing shelter and legal protection ● Developed an initiative promoting positive integration, civic responsibility and respect for national laws among Muslim communities. ● MWL signed a cooperation agreement with Tanzania's National Muslim Council to advance the Makkah Charter and its programmes. The country has also hosted major MWL Qur'anic initiatives. ● Emergency appeals and humanitarian service points established for those fleeing the war ● Water security: over 1,000 wells serving close to 762,500 people ● Separate water infrastructure programme bringing safe water to over 1.2 million people ● MWL distributed relief to people affected by floods and other disasters and launched projects to drill artesian wells in remote communities suffering from shortages of potable water. ●Participated in the UN Alliance of Civilizations, reinforcing the role of Islamic principles in international cooperation. ● Hosted/organised advocacy around Gaza, including a petition involving religious and human-rights leaders calling for an end to the war.
